We participated in our second annual PTO sponsored Color Run. We raised money to be kept in the community for new playground equipment, PE equipment, and to support Graham County Community Foundation. The kids still got prizes when they raised certain amounts of money. We decided to keep the prizes color run related and add a Hawaiian theme to it. To get kids involved with the event we had a spirit week. Monday was favorite team day/crazy sock day, Tuesday was PJ day, Wednesday was dress like a teacher, Thursday was farm day, and Friday was red out day. The kids had a blast! Pictures were taken each day of the students who dressed up. The winner of spirit week gets to have a week of extra play time in the mornings and the winner was the 1st graders!
The students set personal goals, class goals, and a school goal. Their school goal was ..... We set it high this year to see how much we could do. The kids loved that the money raised was staying local. We raised ..... We beat our goal and I am so PROUD of the kids!!!!!! Since we beat our goal as a school we got to have an hour of extra recess outside. The class that raised the most money was the 1st graders and they raised ......so they got to have a movie/popcorn party. The kids that raised the most money this year was Paul, AJ, Julia with $1000, Kalan with $755, Levi with $676, Jackson with $550, Beckett with $500, Braxton with $324, Dax with $241, Corbin and Joseph with $222. They got to dump a food item of choice on the top of my head. Man did it stink!
I would like to thank the staff, parents, and community members for donating money. This was a huge success this year and I am proud of all the students for working so hard.
THANK YOU AGAIN FOR YOUR SUPPORT AND DONATIONS!
